Portsmouth Referees' Association

Fitness Referee Training Update - July 17th

Well done to the six members that turned out this Saturday. They were: Ash Potter, Mike Misselbrook, Andrew Misselbrook, Ken Brown, Nigel Gibbons and Tim Godfray.

Exercises on the warm morning were standard with some short duration high intensity running followed by recovery.

Ken Brown stretches out

Afterwards there was time for some 3-touch football (the one extra touch seemingly making quite the difference) with Brown Wanderers crushing Team Potter 7-3.

Brown Wanderers lined up with Ken as captain/utility man and was joined by Mike and Tim. Andrew and Nigel joined Ash. Scorers for Team Potter team were Andrew and Nigel grabbed a brace. Nigel could have had a hat-trick if his long range pea roller wasn’t stopped on the line by a lightning quick Tim.

Brown Wanderers played as we expected...plenty of passing until Mike got the ball and then the shots were fired out scoring 3 or 4, but the shots-goals ratio was something left to be desired...However, Ken's team did him proud and Brown Wanderers recorded another well-deserved victory.

Thanks to Ash Potter for providing this week's report.
