Fair Play and Club Assistant of the Year Awards - Final Reminder
Please see the below message from Fair Play and Club Assistant of the Year organiser Mike Desborough:
"It is that time of season when I need to collate all the marks for the Fair Play and Club Assistant of the Year awards. I have had some forms in, but I know there are still some of you that have forms to give to me - please ensure that these are with me by no later than the AGM so that I can announce the winners soon after."
"I have had a better return than last season, although it is still poor and needs big improvement. It doesn't take a lot to get your club assistants names, that's the hardest part done, so please let's make this award worthy of giving in future seasons!"
The Fair Play and Club Assistant of the Year Awards run throughout the season and are an iniatative that promotes a better relationship between referees and footballers at our grassroots level. Several of the local leagues are eligible for the award scheme including:
- City of Portsmouth Sunday League
- Gosport & Fareham League
- Havant Sunday League
- Meon Valley League
- Portsmouth Royal Dockyard League
- Portsmouth Saturday League
Last seasons awards were presented at October's Society meeting by Chairman Nick Taplin. The Fair Play Award went to Crofton Saints and the Club Assistant of the Year Award went to Keith Ansell of Portsea Community.
Play your part in this season's winners of the awards by filling out the relevant form on the Forms page. When completed you can print it out and hand a hard copy to Mike Desborough at any Society meeting. Alternatively, you can e-mail him it at mike.desborough1@hotmail.co.uk or post it to him at 44 Brockenhurst Avenue, Havant, Hampshire, PO9 4NT.
